Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

DogTag (“DogTag,” “we,” “us”) is a digital pet medical-ID app provided by The Real Doodle Co. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using DogTag, you agree to this policy.

🔒 DogTag is built to be private. Your dog's details are stored on your own device first, and are never sold. We only use your information to run the app and, if you opt in, to send you updates.

Information we collect

  • Account details you provide when you sign up: your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number.
  • Pet information you enter: your dog's name, photos, vitals, medical details (allergies, conditions, medications, vaccinations), vet and emergency contacts, pedigree/parent details, documents, and notes.
  • Payment information if you subscribe to Premium. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Basic technical data needed to operate and secure the app (e.g., authentication tokens, and standard server logs).

Where your data is stored

DogTag saves your information locally on your device so it works offline. When you create an account, your dog profiles are also backed up securely to the cloud (via Supabase) so you can sign in and access them from other devices. Your pet's medical details are tied to your account and are not shared with other users.

How we use your information

  • To provide the app: store, sync, and display your dog's profiles across your devices.
  • To operate your account and, for Premium, to process and renew your subscription.
  • To power optional features like “Ask Maddie” (see below).
  • If you opt in, to send you helpful tips, reminders, and updates from The Real Doodle Co. You can unsubscribe at any time.

“Ask Maddie” AI

If you use the AI version of Ask Maddie, your question (and relevant details from the dog's profile) are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. This is used only to answer your question and is not used to train models. Maddie provides general information only and is not a veterinarian — always consult your vet for medical concerns.

Sharing features you control

DogTag lets you generate a QR collar tag, a lost-dog flyer, and a sitter care sheet. These contain only the information needed for that purpose (e.g., emergency contact and care details) and are shared only when you choose to share them. Anyone you give a QR tag or share link to can view that information.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run DogTag: Supabase (accounts & secure cloud storage), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (Ask Maddie AI), Vercel (hosting), and, if you opt in to messages, GoHighLevel (email delivery). These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Advertising & analytics

DogTag uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the performance of our ads and reach people who may be interested in the app. It records basic events like page views and sign-ups. It does not receive your dog's medical details. You can control ad tracking through your device and Facebook ad preferences.

Your choices & rights

  • Export a full copy of your data anytime from the app's backup option.
  • Edit or delete any dog or detail directly in the app.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, or by contacting us.
  • Delete your account and cloud data — contact us and we will remove it.

Children

DogTag is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
